We go up the west slope of the “sacred” hill, where we see some of the most splendid examples of the classical architecture of the 5th century B.C., the Propylaea, the Nike Temple, the Parthenon and the Erechtheion. Passing by the Mars Hill and walking down the south slope of the Acropolis hill we arrive at the ancient Agora, the political, commercial and social centre of ancient Athens. From there we come to the vibrant Monastiraki square within few minutes. After a short coffee break we make our way to the Library of Hadrian and then we keep walking up to the Roman Forum, the commercial hub of Athens in Roman times.
The tour starts with the visit to the Acropolis, the highlight of Athens.
