We begin with the visit of the Byzantine museum of Athens, which houses a big collection of artifacts from the byzantine period. The museum alone is an architectural masterpiece, a villa of the 19th century surrounded by a garden with the most pleasant museum café of Athens, bordering the Academy of Aristoteles. After that, we take the metro and go to Plaka, famed for its small and elegant byzantine churches. Strolling through the picturesque city quarter we explore the most representative examples of the Athenian Byzantine architecture.
