We begin with a visit to the Panathenaic Stadium, which played host to the first modern Olympic Games of 1896 and is used annually as the finishing line of the Authentic Marathon Race of Athens. Then we drive northwards to see the Olympic Athletic Centre of Athens “Spyros Louis”, the main venue of the Olympic Games of 2004. After that we head to Marathon tracing the origins of the Marathon race. There we show you the tomb of the Athenian soldiers fallen in the first battle of Greece against the Persians in 490 B.C. At the modern village of Marathon we see the starting line of the Marathon Race and the small Museum of Olympic Marathon Races.
